Today children in Year 2 to Year 6 took part in a BioBlitz at Palace Road Nature Gardens. A BioBlitz is an intense, collaborative and fast-paced 24 event where scientists and volunteers work together to identify as many species of plants, animals and fungi as possible. Each class will walk to the Nature Gardens and work with a community volunteer group to do this. The aim of this ultimately is to improve biodiversity in the area.
Our school vision is "growing hearts and minds" and we pride ourselves on fostering meaningful community connections to teach children about their community, belonging and the importance of working together to make our community - and world - a better place. It is also a wonderfully enriching Science experience for children to bring to life their Science curriculum and to support learning about sustainability!
